Growing up, my mom never let me wear a lot of black clothing. I think she was afraid that if I wore black I would turn into a depressed Wednesday Addams and never come out of my bedroom. Now, in my adult life, I have so much fun wearing black...especially on days where I wear ALL black. I find it so classy - and fear not mom, I am still very happy even when wearing all black! Today Nathan and I drove for hours (literally 3 hours) all through the back roads of the city. I was showing him some of my favorite places. One of them is on this hill called Rose Hill. I find it so beautiful up there. Danielle and I actually attempted taking photographs there the other day but my car got suck in the ditch and a man had to tow us out with a rope. Talk about adventerous! Luckily, I learnt my lesson so Nathan and I didnt get into any danger today but we did have fun snapping photos in all the snow. These pictures turned out so bright and white and look so funny with me all in black in the middle of them!

As you all know, I am in love with velvet. Its my favorite. My closet doesnt need anymore velvet pieces but lovely Nathan knowing me so well got me these velvet shorts for Christmas. I have been excited to wear them on the blog. I saw them in Urban Outfitters about a month ago when Nathan and I just got back to Canada and spotted them from afar but didnt go any closer because I knew I would just buy them on impulse...but thankfully I have a gem of a dream boat who ordered them for me all by himself and suprised me on Christmas. Good work Nate!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far. Kisses. x

  7. Such a wonderful outfit. You manage to wear all black very well, and without looking like Wednesday Addams (although there is nothing wrong with that because she is awesome). You look like you're in a winter wonderland! All that snow looks most magical!

  13. I love wearing black, it has the power to make one feel thin, sexy, confident, and comfortable. I'm glad someone else likes wearing it from head to toe, I could seriously be happy wearing mostly black for the rest of my life!

  17. I love black and velvet too! Black is one of those colors that automatically look chic, and honestly, when in doubt, I always grab for black because I think it looks nice no matter what. And of course, I love that velvet kind of like a flashback to the '90s, so that's always fun!

Your belt is adorable! And I really like the little bead accents on your blouse.

  23. What a brilliant outfit! I still haven't got to the point where I'm ok in an all black outfit but I suppose that's because it's Summer where I am and in Winter I might feel different about it.

  24. I love this outfit!! The stud detail on the sweater, but hands down my favorite detail is the velvet shorts!! I tried on a pair at h&m but they didn't have my size, and I was so sad to let them go! They are so perfect for winter! And the bow belt is just darling! Very impressive that your fella picked them out!!

  25. Ah, I just went to the UO website to see if they had velvet shorts, but no such luck. Yours are amazing and I'm totally in love!

Haha, I remember when I was like 11 I wanted to paint my nails black but my mother wouldn't let me. She said it would turn me into a goth. Mothers are just so funny sometimes!
