Friends, I need to be honest. Ive been in a bit of a funk lately about this blog. I love doing blog posts and sharing my life and I have so much fun blogging..I truly do. I always told myself 'If you ever get to the point where you are not having fun anymore, stop!" because its seriously not worth it. But this past week (maybe because im in a personal rut at the moment aswell) I just havent really felt like giving 110% to this blog. Have you ever felt like this? Im so thankful for those of you who read my blog and leave me such encouraging and nice comments, and send me emails and questions. That seriously means the world to me. To know that I have inspired atleast one person is enough for me to want to keep this blog going..but I guess just this week I have wanted nothing more than to go to blogger.com and click 'delete blog' lets hope this passes and I get my senses back.
Before I get anymore 'woe is me' I want to tell you quickly about this dress. I dont wear much blue, but when I saw this dress hanging so lonely and by itself at a local thrift store for only $2.00 I knew I could change my mind about blue. I love the detail of the flowers, and the belt loops - and ofcourse my favorite part, the peter pan collar. I have been dying for something with a peter pan collar, and the fact that I found an oldschool dress with one was amazing.
I hope you're having a terrific weekend lovelies. x
*Dont mind my wind blown, gigantic hair in these photos. I know, its huuuuge!

That dress is such a great find, it's so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a find, the dress is really lovely. Hope you get out of the rut soon, I've been in one too! :) xx
ReplyDeleteThese photos are gorgeous. I love that dress. :)
ReplyDeleteI can relate to how you are feeling this week. I go through weeks where I feel too busy/stressed and don't have any time, energy or motivation to put into the blog, but the next week will be slow and I'm grateful that I have blogging. I hope you keep it up. I love reading your blog and seeing your lovely photos. :)
Kate, I am in this exact same rut. I think everyone gets the "blogger blues" every once in awhile! I absolutely adore you blog and would be so sad if it just vanished one day! Something that helps me is making lists. Make a list of things you want to do on your blog, things you can look forward to doing! I hope it helps.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! And I am so jealous of your amazing thrist store finds. I don't find anything good at my local stores, maybe I need to venture out and find some new thrift stores. Call me inspired. xo
Awww I'm sorry you felt like that, although having said that I've deleted four blogs (in very VERY early infancy) because I just didn't feel like I was giving it my all and that they were half hearted, I still feel that way sometime about my blog but you have to remember other people might now feel like that. I love your blog and it would be such a shame if you didn't care on.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for you amazing, super nice comment! You made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you look fantastic! Love your boots!

Love the collar, and the print is just lovely. Fabulous find! x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and outfit!
ReplyDeleteAw, sorry you feel like that - I think most people who blog do, at some point or another. Just try to remember that you're blogging because it's something you want to do! No one is telling you to do it or telling you what to put on it, so remember that! Regardless, your blog is one of my very favorites, and even if you don't feel like you're putting 110% into it, every time I read it I am amazed by your beautiful photos and style and the things you write :)
ReplyDeleteah these pictures are amazing! really love that dress and that snow looks great! i wish it was summer though, it's so cold!
ReplyDeleteA lot of bloggers take breaks but find themselves coming back! I would refrain from deleting it because you might change your mind! But it's okay if you need to step away and focus on other things, you might realize you miss it, and us!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, you should check out the Peter Pan collars that ModCloth is selling, you could wear them with anything!
Hope you stick around!
what a gorgeous little dress - I love the peter pan colar too and such a bargain at $2! you really suit the colour dear!

I really hope you NEVEREVER delete your blog! It is one of my faves, and I always look forward to seeing your inspiring thrifty outfits. Keep it up! We love you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for my kind comment on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you got that dress for $2, I can never find anything like that here! Thrifting is expensive compared to that! Its such a lovely pattern, the peter pan collar is so cute!

Your blog looks cool, do you want to follow my blog`?
ReplyDeletewww.uthority.blogspot.com
if you're feeling uninspired with blogging, maybe it's best to take a break (not a long one! i'd miss your posts). i think content, writing and pictures, always is best when it's not forced. and if you're forcing yourself to do something that you don't want to do, you're just going to end up hating it. at least that's how i feel!
ReplyDeletealso - are you doing something different with your bangs? i love the super side part that you have goin' on.
what an amazing find!
ReplyDeletethat dress is beautiful! & for $2.00!?! lucky duck!
you look beautiful. i am loving all these amazing outfit post in the snow!
i understand about the blog issue..hopefully the feeling will pass. i get that feeling every once and awhile..i hope you keep it up because you are wonderful! <3

As you know from our little facebook chats (hehe), I know exactly how you are feeling. But to me, your blog has only been getting better and better lately! Your outfits and photos are so wonderful - don't dissapear on us :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Heather - make lists and plan fun things (like clothes swaps!) for the blog and you will soon get excited about blogging again!
On another note, this dress is fantastic, and I love that bag and those boots together.

I totally know that feeling. Try taking a break from your blog for a while and see if you feel differently about it ^,^
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so I'll be sad to see it go, but it's all up to you!
also, your dress is really cute!!
xo
oh my goodness what a awesome price for that dress!!! the collar is just adorable :)
ReplyDeleteHey! I wish Blogger had a thread-reply thing... it doesn't... haha. But, I am glad to have helped your day :) I love that I am making "blog friends" with people like you! It's crazy... I've never met you/spoken to you except for the Internet but I feel like you would be someone I'd totally be real life friends with, you know? :) I love that the blog community has brought me closer together with complete strangers who I now feel some type of connection with! And, for the record... I LOVE YOUR DRESS and if you ever decide to sell it, like you did with your skirt that I bought, I want to call dibs :) Haha.
ReplyDeleteI had the exact same feeling this weekend. I all of a sudden got really overwhelmed by my blog and wondered how I ever ended up showing the world my outfits every day and how it ended up that a few people were actually interested in SEEING my outfits every day, and how so many people I interact with on a daily basis I have never met in person. I never planned to be a "blogger" when I started my blog, and I think I had a little identity crisis about it!
ReplyDeleteBut I think that it's a pretty healthy thing to be thoughtful about blogging, why we do it, and what it means to us. I think I got myself out of my funk by remembering what blogging has helped me do to achieve my personal goals. But it's good to remember that no one is paying me for this, so it should never feel like a job!
Those are my unsolicited two (maybe four) cents!
xo

aw Kate! I'm sorry you're in a blog 'rut.' I've definitely been there before. Perhaps you should take a break from blogging for a little bit...if it's not making you happy, then why do it?! Selfishly, I do hope you don't stop blogging forever, your blog is one of my favorites. Not only do you have the cutest style and photos, but your writing always puts a smile on my face. You have the best attitude and you inspire me so much! I hope you get it all figured out, my dear!

ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon and get back to your usual self! I think everybody gets like this at times and it's just something that will pass by soon and you'll be fine again! :)
ReplyDeleteDude no, I love your windblown hair! It's so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally understand about wanting to quit blogging at times. When I stop caring like that, I just take a break. Then, a week or so later I can come back feeling refreshed and ready to start again. But I definitely feel ya on that one. fwiw, if you take a break I'll still be here when you come back! <3
That dress is so pretty! Your hair looks great too, windblown or not.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the whole "stop when you're not having fun anymore" thing...blogging should be something enjoyable you do in your spare time, not a tedious chore or something that takes over your life. Hope you feel better!
