The last time I wore a jean jacket was....oh wait, I have NEVER worn a jean jacket. I think I had one in Grade 4 but got pretty sick of it after a week. It reminded me too much of baseball, Rosie O'Donnell circa 96, and Ponyboy from The Outsiders. Skip ahead 13 years and I guess you could say I am smitten over the idea of a jean jacket. I havent taken the step of getting my very own, oh no friends, not yet......but I did steal this one from my Mothers closet (where all good things are kept) and have grown quite a fondness with it. Riddle me this...where does one find the perfect jean jacket? You dont want one that is too stiff because then its uncomfortable and you cant even move your arms (cue Mr Roboto) but you also dont want one that is too worn in....because you want to be the one to wear it in. To give it life, to make it dirty with stains and splotches, to form it perfectly to your body. Am I right or am I very very wrong? These are the things that keep me awake at night.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! xoxo

  2. LOVE the denim and the purse...and your shoes. As usual. I wants.

and I got gumdrop a few months ago - perfect spring color, and it smells a little more like cotton candy than gumdrops, which is still an A+ in my book!

  24. I found my best jean jacket at Gap about 5 or 6 years ago and it's pretty perfect for me. And the fact that's lasted this long is pretty awesome too:)

And I am digging that pretty bag and those cute sandals!

  28. Haha -- I laughed out loud about the Mom's closet comment. I wish my mom had a little more to offer, but I cannot complain. She does have awesome jewelry!
I do aspire to be THAT mom someday though.
Also -- this MAY be a little creepy, but how do I get in on this chain letter dress situation?! I would love to have the opportunity to style it; such a fun idea.

  30. Your jacket! Your bag! They're so perfect. Seriously, I'm in awe at your bag.

I tried on a few denim jackets when I went thrifting last week, but they were of hideous washes or just too big even though I looked in the kids section. Sad.

  37. I totally have been thinking about getting a jean jacket lately...I want to pair them will all of my floral dresses, but I'm worried I'd be able to wear it for only a short while before it go to hot! But I think I'm going to go by a thrift store one of these days to look for one...that way it'll already have had it's own story and life before, and I'm just adding to it!

  38. Okay, so what i need is that purse! Holy mother it's gorgoeus! (and I am not even really a purse person) Love it!
I bought my first jean jacket from GAP like 8 years ago. It was a huge splurge since I was in college and it was full price. But by now i have worn it a bazillion times and it IS worn and stained to perfection. Good luck!

  47. I rocked a jean jacket Punky Brewster style back in the day, and then took nearly a 2 decade hiatus. Now I have a shrunken fit one from a thrift store... shrunken fit=child sized one with the cuffs unbuttoned since they land around my elbows. It works I guess. Loving yours. i wish my mother had a raidable closet.

  49. Okay, Ponyboy was kind of awesome, wasn't he? I'm in the market for a new jean jacket, too, and so far it's looking like Levis makes the best ones that I've found. My old one looks really outdated now...I could never wear it! In fact, it's one of those items of clothing that you look at and wonder how you ever wore it. Ugh. Beautiful pics!
