Thankful

I havent been home for thanksgiving for a few years now, but this weekend I really missed it. I miss the goodness of turkey, gravy, and stuffing I miss pumpkin pie, and the crisp air outside. I love the leaves, new starbucks drinks, and the sudden excitement for halloween. This weekend I wrote in my journal of the things that I am thankful for, and this post is dedicated to all things worthy of a big 'thanks!'

Im thankful for...

My Mum & Dad, gorgeous sister and handsome brother who despite being thousands of miles away are still my favorite people, ever!
nathan, my one and only dream boat (ofcourse you saw that one coming!)
the Mulligans, who arent my real family, but a trio of the most amazing people I have ever known.
my humble abode, with my three lovely flat mates who never make fun of me when I wear my glasses each morning and look identical (yes, identical!) to Ugly Betty.
key lime pie that never stops tasting good
air conditioning. I couldnt say enough great things about it!
the grocery store and how cheap they price their pineapples (seriously Woolworths, thankyou!)
books, books and more books.
hands to write, eyes to see, ears to hear.
Danielle Simkus who made my teenage years the most amazing, and will always be my best friend.
Mcdonalds cheeseburgers. (thankyou Lord for Mcdonalds!)
the beautiful country of Australia, and the amaaazing country of Canada.
freedom of speech - freedom in general
this blog and all of you.

happy thanksgiving lovelies! xo

  1. What a really sweet post; it tickles me that you wrote your thanks in your journal too, mainly because it brings me back to the days when I used to keep a daily diary. :) You're a lovely human being and even though you're far from your family, it's clear that you're still surrounded by loved ones.

    Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving, darling!

  11. Such a pretty outfit and I love your thankful list. I'm sure it's weird experiencing the warmer temps of Spring while all of North America are enjoying the cooler weather during the Thanksgiving season. I'm sure it's not all that bad in Australia though:)

  12. What a great post! Your pictures and outfit are, as usual, superb... but the list of everything that you're grateful for is great. I hope everyone who reads it takes a moment to be thankful for what they have.

Happy Thanksgiving! I admit, I was a little confused, but then looked at my calendar and remembered that it was Canadian Thanksgiving yesterday ;)

  19. How lovely, and what a great idea. I think when we feel down, listing our gratefulness is a really tremendous idea -- one I should use more often. You've inspired me, Kate! But you always do :)

  26. Is it too much that I am almost crying about this post? Perhaps. There are so many GOOD things to be thankful for. So thank you for this post for reminding me of that.

Thanksgiving is my favorite meal, and when I was studying abroad in London I had to miss all the turkey and sides that make me so happy. Luckily my mom really stepped up to the plate and completely recreated Thanksgiving dinner for me for Christmas. It was delicious as always.

I hope you're able to get some pumpkin, cranberries, and turkey while you're down there!
