snow white
Ive always had a love/hate relationship with the color white. It always reminds me of weddings, michael jackson, or hospitals - so you can see why I dont usually lean towards it. 2011 is a year of fresh starts though, and that includes exploring new colors in my wardrobe. I told myself this would be a year of white, red, orange, and even...gasp...pink. Lets see if I can last past March with these goals.
Have you guys been having a great week so far? I had a wonderful Valentine's Day with my lovely dream boat. We went for heart shaped pizzas (my favorite!) endless rootbeer, gumballs, and a wonderful (but incredibly sad) movie to end it all off. Have any of you seen the movie "Never Let Me Go?" If not, I suggest you do! But beware..this is definately the type of movie you are going to want to wash all your mascara off before and have a big box of kleenex on hand. Nathan and I (even though he probably would never admit to it) were both in tears! Its a gorgeous film though with amazing actors. Loved it! Hope you are all having a great week! xoxo

I feel the same way about white, so I just resort to ivory or cream :) You are so beautiful, Kate! The tights and your silk shirt is my favorite part of your outfit. So, since Alaska is closer to Canada, maybe one day our dream of hanging out and being bff will come true! At least I hope so!
ReplyDeletelove brooch and blouse!
ReplyDeleteI looove those tights Kate! OK and you are so pulling the white off. I share your uneasiness about white though, mainly for me because I am always afraid of spilling stuff on it!
ReplyDeleteI have made plans to watch Never Let Me Go since last night now! I'm excited about it.
Talk soon lovely!

p.s. soooo excited about our potential NYFW plans. eeek!

Those tights are to dieee for. And I don't like wearing white either, I feel like it always washes me out!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so beautiful, you look lovely! I'm loving those tights & the shorts especially, although everything looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou are GORGEOUS! Your hair and eyes :) And yay for trying new colors! I was visiting my grandparents in Minneapolis this past weekend and I went to the Mall of America (have you ever been there?) and I found myself buying 'new-to-me' colors, and I think it's due to the fashion blogesphere! Mustard? Chartreuse!? And I'm loving every minute of it :)
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in these colors, darling! And those shorts and tights are a wonderful combo! Can't wait to see you style shorts in warmer weather!!
Also, I know you were apart of Indie, did you edit your photos like Elizabeth showed us? They are amazing!!
So glad you had a lovely time with your dreamboat and got to hold one another and have a good cry :) The two of you such a cute couple!! Best wishes to you both, always <33
Oh, you have such a knack for putting together wonderful outfits! I generally am intimidated by the color white because of my pale skin, but I think you off the white so wonderfully! Now I want to try wearing more white, haha :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've been wanting to watch Never Let Me Go for the longest! Must get on that!
so pretty! especially like the third photo. and i admire your color resolutions, i should make some myself. i want to go see that movie now, with that review i gotta.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is wonderful! I love love love your top and the cardi is great. Sounds like you had a lovely Valentine's Day. JP and I went for heart shaped pizza a few years ago. This year we had heart shaped white chocolate brownie!! Yummm. :)
ReplyDeleteuuuuh this is perfection! every. single. item and detail. down to your hair. it's funny this might be my favorite outfit on you yet!
ReplyDeleteI read never let me go... tear.
Those boots are LOVELY and I love the tights. I think you SHOULD definitely wear white more often- it looks beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I am sooo jealous of your camera! These photos are INCREDIBLE.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is absolutely gorgeous - I'm glad you're trying out pretty new colours, this is a wonderful look on you :)
Love this outfit - you wear white well. Never Let Me Go is such a beautiful movie. It's one of my newest faves.
ReplyDeleteRobert and I are going to watch that movie while we house sit for my parents for three weeks starting next week! I'm lucky that I don't wear make up at all so I can just cry cry cry cry! I think you look lovely in white (or in any color really) Kate! I used to be apprehensive about white too since it's not as flattering as black, but oddly, I have way more white than black in my closet (mostly because of all my striped tops hehe). My best friend gave me a white cardigan for Christmas and I haven't worn it on the blog yet and this reminds me that I need to! I adore your cute little bow pin! It's placed so perfectly on that lovely blouse of yours :) Oh the endless good things I can say about each of your posts Kate!

Beautiful photos! And I think you've done white really well...just the right amount, mixed with other tones, very pretty x
ReplyDeleteI love how romantic but down to earth this outfit is! The ribbon pin on your silky blouse is also a nice detail :) I used to not like white or neutrals for the longest time but I've definitely opened up my heart to them these last few months, I guess my "fashion palate" is maturing. Also, I saw a super sad movie the other day too called Biutiful. GEEZ LOUISE, I walked out of the theater shell shocked. It was really well acted but man alive. Hard to watch.

Absolutely gorgeous outfit! LOVE the lace tights!
ReplyDeleteHavn't seen Never Let Me Go yet, but its one of my fave books! I'm just worried the film won't do the story justice, as the trailers seem to make it like a romance, all about love & friendship, but when you read the novel the ethics comes through a lot more and its so brilliantly written that somehow you're not even sad when you finish reading it. You kind of accept it, and I guess it makes you think a lot more about human-kind... Very deep.

And about half my wardrobe is white! It just seems so...versatile...probably because I lean towards bright colors that look good with the stark white? Who knows!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you put this together - the jean shorts really set it off!!

I love that movie. It's such an original story line depicted so perfectly. It made me cry so very much.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit- it's so romantic. You can definitely pull of the white, lady. I'm glad you had a great Valentine's day! I haven't heard of that movie but I want to see it now! I'm a sucker for sad movies. haha
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm a 5 year old in church when I wear white but this outfit really looks good! I like the lacey tights and those shorts are a cute cut!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning for Never Let Me Go. It's been in my netflix que in the saved and just came out on release right? either that or it's been out and is somewhere up in my que now on netflix. haha.
ReplyDeleteI truly laughed when you wrote that white reminds you of Michael Jackson mixed with all that other stuff. That was so random but made so much sense!
You look lovely in white though!
Love this outfit: simple but chic!!!
