God Bless America

Today I celebrated the lovely 4th of July with a few lovelies, at my freinds Adriel and Ryans BBQ. I will admit that I love America. I love your one dollar bill, your hamburgers and everything else that can be super-sized. I love your Costco's and Targets. Your massive clothing stores and movie theatres. The music, the colleges, the sports teams, and I will proudly say with absolutely no shame that I am a huge fan of Barack Obama. I was telling my freind Adriel this morning that I have always wanted to have a house in the country somewhere with a big open porch and a big American flag sticking out and a mail box beside it. That is my dream. It seems like it will never happen though because I am not American, and do not plan on marrying an American, but I can still sport the flag with pride...I really do love Americas flag. So for all of you lovely Americans out there, Happy 4th of July - I hope your weekend is filled with deep fried food, lots of fruit and amazing fireworks!

I just got off the phone with my Dad. Do you ever have those phone calls where you dont even have to be talking to the person on the other line, that just hearing them breathe or mutter in the background is a big enough comfort? I love my Dad so much. I know that I brag about him too much for my own good on this blog, but he seriously is my favorite person in this whole entire world. I find that he is the only person that can make me laugh my face off and I really mean every single chuckle. I dont have to fake a laugh or pretend that he is funny so he feels better. He just seriously is so funny. And not is he only funny, he has no idea that he is really funny, and that makes him even funnier. I swear the Dad jokes will never get old. The stories from when he was a teenager, or what he did at the grocery store 3 hours earlier - I just love hearing about it. I hold tight to every single word. If you're reading this Dad, which you most likely are, I love you lots!

Tonight im going to have dinner at Nathans and then going to my pad to relax. For the last three nights, I have lathered my face in an amazing face mask, put some foot cream on, and popped in a Dawsons Creek DVD. I love the feeling of not having to think. I dont have to think about anything. I can eat a whole bag of popcorn and I can enjoy a glass of wine and I dont have an agenda. I absolutely love it. This weekend was much needed. I hope you are all having as good of a weekend. Tell me what you have done or what you are doing! Take care love bugs. x

  3. I love the dark mustard color of your top, but the bow makes it. But y'know what? After hearing a lot about the whole "everyone else is the world hates America" schtick, I've come to believe it. But when I hear about you loving our ups and downs and the big and ... well, mostly big?? That's amazing, and it felt like a big verbal hug. :D Thanks, Katie! You're a swell person with swell earrings.

  19. What an adorable dream -- You can still have the flag, even if you're only channelling a bit of that American spirit! I feel much closer to Canada now that I live so close, haha :) Anyway, you look so beautiful and your hair always astounds me. How in the world do you get your pictures so consistently filtered with that awesome retro blue/red light? I adore it.

  32. This is seriously one of my favorite outfits you have ever put together.
The yellow velvet blouse and soft, big bow, plus you know how I am with tights and these ones kill me.
I think you should definitely come to America and hang out with me and see how goofy and weird I am in real life.
