Canada Day

This morning as I sat on my bed drinking sweet peppermint tea, I took complete joy in the fact that I am Canadian. Every year I get so excited. Back home in Canada, every July 1st would be a day of going down to the cities big park, eating icecream and drinking lemonade and watching fireworks. This year, I spent it wrapped up in a Canadian flag in my Australian house instead, thinking of what I love about my home country. Not only am I thankful for our amazing healthcare, hockey, and maple syrup - I am thankful that I grew up amongst beautiful mountains filled with snow, our culture and history, and our delicious salmon. Happy Canada Day!

This afternoon I was sitting with Nathans dad watching Oprah for a bit, and the cast from Twilight was on it. Did any of you see this episode today? Ken would say that my eyes were glued to the screen and my heart thumping as Edward walked across the stage, but in my head im thinking "Are people really this obsessed with Twilight!?" but then I realized that I am one of those people! I will admit that when I read the first book, I became so obsessed with Edward Cullen that I was even jealous of Bella. Her character annoys me so much, and he is such a heart-throb! Who wouldnt like sparkly skin, freezing cold hands and a vampire who looks smoking hot in raybans? Seriously. Hes dreamy. Full stop. Have any of you seen Eclipse yet? I am hoping to go really soon! Let me know what you thought of it!

Tonight I am making a lovely friend a stirfry and then hopefully indulging in a good book. When I away at sea, all I did was read pretty much..I grew such a love for it, even more than I had before. Did any of you read that Marcia Brady book yet? You need to! Have a great rest of your days, peaches. x

Ahh, I am obsessed with Twilight too. Havn't seen Eclipse yet but am going next Wednesday - waiting for the mania to die down because my boyfriend can only handle one twi-hard (me!) at the cinema, haha.

  5. I did see that Oprah episode, it was so overwhelming. I'm used to seeing the screaming tweens, but omg those Twimoms were pathetic and the sorority that watches the films every week- dear god, these people need lives haha

  7. So glad you're back, and in the sweetest dress, to boot! I've missed you terribly! How lovely that you've grown to appreciate reading more -- we decided not to get television at our new house in Minnesota (which is practically Canada, haha) so I've been reading even more than usual, too. And...this afternoon I'm going to see Eclipse :)
