Today was graduation day for the Discipleship Training School that we run here at 'Youth With a Mission'. The short term we use is DTS :) DTS is a 5 and a half month bible school where you do 3 months of lectures - then 2 months of outreach to somewhere in the world. Students come from all around the world - it was one of the best things I have ever done in my life. During my DTS, I was fortunate enough to go to China for a month, and Singapore for another month. Such an exciting time. Everyone got dressed up pretty, and came together this morning to celebrate and congratulate this team of wonderful people. After 5 intense months of learning, growing, giving, tears, laughter, travel, challenges, struggles, commitment and dedication..they are done. They have made it!
Last night I was laying in my bed trying to fall asleep and I was overcome with an incredible sense of adventure. I told myself on January 1st that this year was going to be a year of big things. Of change and growth, of not just sitting back and watching things happen - but going out and actually doing them! I think I hold back from a lot of things because I live in fear of the unknown, but im beginning to learn that those are some of the most exciting and best experiences that we can have. What is the biggest adventure you desire to go on lately, or have gone on recently?
This evening I hope to relax and not do too much. One of my favorite things ever would have to be just sitting in coffee shops and reading. I havent discovered any in Townsville that I am head over heels about yet, but I hope to sometime this weekend find one..also - I want to start an etsy store so maybe this weekend will result in me working out a paypal account and getting some things together!
Have a great rest of your day. x
I love love love that dress. I'm crazy for ruffles, and I like how you played up the femininity of the dress with the detailed tights! :D
ReplyDeleteDTS sounds inspiring. I can only imagine how your work in China and Singapore changed you. I dig your fashion sense, but it's nice to read about your enriching experiences to.
