Mint Condition

After staring at those Kate Spade heels yesterday for what seemed like a total of a couple hours (yes, I am obsessed) I knew I couldn't go through today without wearing something mint. This jacket has always been one of my favorite's and even though I love the color mint in the Spring I always find myself wanting to start wearing it right after Christmas! January Wish List

A girl can never have too many clothes, shoes, and bags, right? ;) Every month I come up with these incredibly long wish lists of everything that I dream about adding to my closet. This month's wishlist is small but filled with expensive goodies that are dangerous for my wallet but that I am head over heels in love with. Top of the list? Bonjour 2013!

Every New Years I always find myself listening to Death Cab for Cuties song 'New Year' and relating to the line '& I don't feel any different' except this year, I do. 2012 was such an exciting year for me. I went to Cuba with my Mom and for the first time in my life felt comfortable in a bikini. I came home to find out I had been accepted to my dream Art School, packed up my bags and moved to the city (with nine boxes of clothes, 3 boxes of shoes, and not much else) I made new friends. I embarrassed myself daily. I flirted with the idea of marriage and got over it around August. I ate endless cheeseburgers, made a vow to not eat cheeseburgers ever again, then started eating them a week later. I took up painting (making a whole canvas one color is my specialty, I can't do anything else) I grew a liking for beer, and a hatred for chocolate. I went to Vegas and made it out alive. I fell in love with film photography. I met a boy. I bought dog printed trousers and wore them with pride. I laughed the entire year through, and only lit my food on fire once (okaaaaaay maybe twice)


All in all 2012 was one of my favorite years to date, and I am so excited for what 2013 has in store. What was your favorite moment of 2012? Happy New Year my friends, I hope its your best one yet! x

Tickled Pink

I never wear pink (and as you can see, I never brush my hair or iron my clothes either) but this summer my Mom gifted me with this dress and said 'it reminds me of you!' so naturally I fell in love. Its pink, but not obnoxious spice-girl-bubble-gum pink, so I knew this dress and I would get along just fine, and I could make an exception to my aversion with the girliest color on the planet. Made for each other, two peas in a pod, the ying to my yang...you catch my drift. This ones for you, Ma. Happy Tuesday, friends!

I could get a gold medal in 'forgetting' about homework, eating food that is horrendous for me and convincing myself it is actually healthy (you guys, cheeseburgers HAVE lettuce), starting Jane Austen novels and never finishing them, spending more money on clothes than on food, and neglecting this blog. Life's been busy...you can relate right? I've been super distracted by New Girl episodes,dancing in the streets and not winning, attempting to get into shape & cooking (who am I kidding here?) and okay, yeah, I met a boy. BUT after a good Sunday morning chat with a friend who doesn't mind telling me 'get off your ass and do a blog post'...I decided it was time. Here I am, three weeks too late but still here! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend AND November. xx

Topshop Love

Lets just take a moment to appreciate all the wonders of the British. The Beatles, Harry Potter, Tea tea and more tea, Spice Girls, David Beckham, William Shakespeare, Yorkshire puddings, driving on the left, black cabs, the Queen, cricket, and......TOPSHOP

This store and I fell in love at first sight a few years ago, and since then I have been extremely smitten with it. You can probably imagine my excitement after moving to Vancouver and hearing a TOPSHOP was opening right in the heart of downtown. Say what?! Music to my ears. Soul mates reunited. At last, TOPSHOP and I can be together again. It opened its doors today for the first time and it felt like a magical wonderland inside. Filled to the brim with knits, sequins, studs, camo, leather, chiffon, and all things fetch..it is easy to say this new store had me at 'hello'.

I went to the opening today with a lovely dear friend of mine, Danielle. We have been close friends for quite some time and its amazing to live in the same city as her again so we can enjoy shopping till we drop together just like old times. Hope you're all having a wonderful week! x

Deja Vu?

Remember that time I fell off the face of the planet...Sayanara, Au revoir, Goodbye! Never to be heard from again? Yeah, me too. But as the seasons change, I found that I, myself, had started to change as well. There was highs, and lows, and hiccups and speed bumps and at some points what felt like head on collisions. Life happens and life got really busy, but I never forgot about this blog. (I sound like a Hallmark card, right?)

Autumn was always my favorite season to post on Postcards From. I love the leaves, the boots, the ridiculous amounts of tea, the pumpkin pie (which, I will be honest, I always tell myself its okay to have 1/2/3 or 4 slices) and lets not forget the endless amount of cute boys in cardigans. There isn't really anything about this time of year that I don't love, so what better time than now to make a comeback?

As you can imagine not much has changed in my closet. I still love floral. Looooove chiffon. and love leather. This shirt was the perfect choice for my 'I'm back!' post, thanks to the lovely Jenny and team at Sway Chic Please check them out, they have amazing stuff! Hope you gems are doing well. wind me up, buttercup.

Its an awkward moment when crossing the street with a coffee in one hand, lunch in the other while wearing a dress & heels, and having a gust of wind sweep up on you like a nightmare. Suddenly, your faced with a decision. Do you walk as fast as you can to get across this cross walk when you fully know you will flash someone on the way, or do you walk sideways, cross legged, jagged, looking like a full blown (literally) idiot (but staying modest!) and getting stares from old women, who wish this generation would just learn how to be a lady already. I wish I could say I only face this problem once in a lifetime, but no friends, this happens to me about 3 times a week. This is what you get for wearing dresses 98% of the time. Today was no exception. Thank goodness for this asymmetrical dress which became my new best friend. So forgive the messy hair, frazzled look, and down right whacky photo's of today. I tried, but weather trumps Kate every time, and Mother Nature loves to embarrass me. Hope you're having a gooooood week! :)

all that glitters

After six months of being in writers block and the blogger blues, I have decided that I need a little Postcards From back in my life. Can't tell you how much I have missed this blogging community and all of you. Thanks for being patient with me and sending me encouraging tweets, facebook messages, and emails. To kick start a new blog post, I brought my favorite co-pilot and best brother along for the ride.
